Our country is a world-recognized major cultural heritage country. The third national cultural relics survey registered more than 767,000 immovable cultural relics, and the first national movable cultural relics survey registered more than 100 million state-owned movable cultural relics (sets). As of the end of 2023, more than 1,500 representative projects of national intangible cultural heritage have been announced, 39 world cultural heritage have been successfully applied for, 142 national historical and cultural cities, nearly 800 famous historical and cultural towns and villages in China, and more than 8,000 traditional villages in China have been announced. The task of protecting cultural heritage is very heavy. my country is still in the process of rapid advancement of industrialization and urbanization. Large-scale infrastructure construction has continuously unearthed new cultural relics, and at the same time it has continuously posed severe challenges to the protection of existing cultural heritage. Under this situation, only by promoting systematic protection and unified supervision of cultural heritage, effectively integrating existing cultural heritage protection and supervision forces, and improving the effectiveness of cultural heritage protection and supervision can we undertake the increasingly heavy and arduous tasks of cultural heritage protection.
