Exchange Place Real Estate Area Info

The Exchange Place region has been a major transportation center since the colonial period. There are countless apartment buildings that are situated in the region radiating Jersey City. Exchange Place overtook Journal Square as the major business district in Hudson County and become a chief business hub alongside the redeveloped harbors in the New Jersey and Port of New York. The Mack-Cali house hosts numerous nesting sites on behalf of Peregrine Falcon, including the Jersey City Peregrine Cam. The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway passes through Exchange whereas on the other side is J. Owen Grundy Park that extend into the Hudson River.

The first memorial that was raised in Exchange Place is known as the Katyn Memorial and it was meant to pay tribute to those who died during the Katyn Forest massacre. It was built by the famous Polish-American artist Andrzej Pitynski. Located at the South of Excange Place is the Paulus Hook Ferry terminal of the New York Waterways and Goldman Sachs Tower, which is the tallest house in New Jersey. The biggest Colgate Clock in the world is faces Battery Park in lower Manhattan. This clock is 15m wide and weighs 2,200 pounds. It was raised in 1924 to substitute a smaller one which was moved to a factory in Jeffersonville Indiana. To the north of Exchange Place is the former storehouse that now house Harborside Financial Center. There is variety of transportation means in Exchange Place including Pennsylvania railroad station, PATH, Hudson Bergen Light Rail (HBLR), Paulus Hook Ferry Terminal and buses.
